Hi, I’m Ivan Ryabov, a software engineer in Sydney specialising in systems software and AI-enabled engineering.

I build reliable systems and developer tools, with a particular interest in distributed systems, testing, and architecture. My language experience spans modern C++, Rust, and Go. I value C++ for its fine-grained control over performance and memory. Rust brings that control together with strong correctness guarantees, while Go shines when straightforward concurrency, small interfaces, and operational simplicity matter. I care less about language camps than about choosing tools that make software easier to reason about and maintain.

My experience and interests also extend into 3D graphics, simulation, computational physics, and real-time systems—domains where algorithms, numerical behaviour, performance, and physical constraints meet.

I also design ways for engineers and AI agents to work together effectively: turning repeated practices into reusable skills, giving specialist agents clear roles and boundaries, and keeping the resulting work grounded in evidence and human judgement.

I use this site as a version-controlled, public notebook for ideas that survive contact with real software: C++, Rust, Go, reliability, distributed systems, testing, architecture, 3D graphics, simulation, computational physics, real-time systems, and the increasingly interesting ways humans and AI build together.

The posts are personal and pragmatic. Some start with a design question; others start with a bug, a side project, or a belief that changed after an experiment. The goal is the same: preserve the useful reasoning, not just the final answer.
